At Lost Art Apothecary, we strive to always use the highest quality ingredients in the industry to create topicals that truly are food for your largest organ; your skin. At the basis of every one of our formulas are food-grade extra virgin oils, traditional herbs, vitamins and whole nutrients. Each of our ingredients is USDA Certified Organic, besides potassium sorbate; a natural shelf-life extender. 

See below for some of our featured ingredients and just some of their powerful properties. While the FDA doesn't allow medical claims, our intention below is to show how each ingredient was used both traditionally and today, and are backed with relevant peer-reviewed studies.

Arnica montana

Arnica has been used since the 1500's for a wide range of conditions, including bruises, sprains, muscle aches, wound healing, joint pain, inflammation from insect bites.


Capsicum annuum

Another superhero! Stops muscle and joint pain; offering relief from rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, psoriasis,

shingles, and diabetic neuropathy.


Calendula officinalis

Calendula flower is used to prevent muscle spasms, menstrual cramps, and inflammation.


Cinnamomum verum

Full of  antioxidants, antimicrobials, antifungals, and antimicrobials, this plant is vital for blood circulation and anti-inflammation.


Cannabis sativa

Reputed to refresh, revive, and strengthen the skin, maintain suppleness and softness, and repair dryness.


Olea europaea

Rich in vitamins A, D, E, and K, research proves applying olive oil on the skin can prevent signs of photo-aging and sun damage.


Hypericum perforatum

Used topically for the treatment of wounds, abrasions, burns, myalgia, and inflammatory skin disorders.


Persea Gratissima

The antioxidants & anti-inflammatory agents in avocado oil help your skin stay smooth, strong, and elastic. It also hydrates skin, while protect against skin damage. 



Hemp has been used for thousands of years for it's medicinal benefits.  Uses include: nerve pain, arthritis, inflammation, rapid wound healing, eczema, acne, back pain and more. 

Cocos nucifera

Often applied to the skin as a moisturizer, to treat eczema (atopic dermatitis) and a skin condition called psoriasis.


Zingiber officinale

Ginger is an excellent topical application for pain, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and gouty arthritis.


Simmondsia chinensis

Long used by Native Americans, Jojoba is applied directly to the skin for acne, psoriasis, sunburn, & chapped skin. The Vitamin E and B-complex vitamins help skin repair & damage control.


Mahonia aquifolium

Studies have shown this medicinal herb to have anti-inflammatory properties useful in cutaneous disorders, primarily psoriasis.


Zingiber officinale

Used for the treatment of pain lower back pain, osteoarthritis, headache, bursitis, and tendinitis. It is believed to have anti-aging capabilities when applied topically.
